Portable Compost Bin
The Compot is a portable compost bin solution for ALL your kitchen waste. You can move them around your garden or dig them up when you move house.
Three Compots are a good starting number for a two or three-person household.
If you produce a bucket of waste every 4 days or weekly you will most likely need 3 Compots.
Depending on what you waste, what your soil is like, what your climate is like and what you want to achieve in your garden, will determine whether you need more than three of this Portable Compost Bin system.
Just start filling your Compots and you will soon work out if three is enough for you or not. A portable compost bin solution makes it easy to place them anywhere you like in your garden for maximum effect and move them around the garden if you want. To me, that is more work though. You can always get more if you find you need more, but you have to start somewhere.
Why have three?
With three Compots the worms will move around the garden from pot to pot and follow the food source.
As they move they spread their castings which in turn will nourish more parts of your garden. And you don’t have to spread compost.
Three pots mean you can nourish more different parts of your garden without moving the Compots. Therefore less work for you. The worms do it all.
A spare Compot allows for extra waste overflow when you have extra guests. Or let one sit for 4 to 6 weeks to decompose and harvest composted soil.
As a portable compost bin solution, you can dig them up and move them anywhere in your garden at will.
To me, that is extra work though. I prefer to have a few more so I don’t have to keep digging holes.
But this is a great way to nourish your garden without the added expense.
Why is being portable an asset?
Because it is a portable compost bin solution you can plant it wherever you want. Don’t like it one spot – move it. Want to nourish another spot – Move it.
It is that simple. This way you can nourish more of your garden with a little extra work digging holes.
But if you don’t want to dig holes then purchase a few more and place them strategically around your garden for best results.
A portable compost bin system gives you more flexibility where you want to nourish your garden.
If you want a hidden portable compost bin in your garden instead of a big visible compost bin then a Compot or three is the way to go.
Your garden gets nourished, you dispose of your waste and you hardly have to do a thing except fill it up and give it an occasional clean out.

The green Compots are made from virgin plastic material that should last you roughly 10 years plus in the garden. There are no harmful chemicals in this material and it should not break if you stand on the lid. The lid will usually push into the pot rather than break. If you hit it with a rotary hoe (as one customer did) it will no doubt get chopped up. The lid is designed to take the weight of a 50 Kg child who might run across it. I personally have jumped on them and the lid usually just pushes inside the Compot Base. The product is guaranteed for 2 years under normal circumstances, but it should last much longer than 2 years so you get many valuable years of use out of your Compots.
To post one Compot cost the same as three Compots (unless you live in Brisbane where the rates are generally less than most other areas) so consider the postage costs when you order to get the best value out of your post.
After 3 Compots it costs roughly the same to post up to 14 Compots depending on where you live. You can test different bundles for postage costs by entering your suburb details and requesting a quote. Just don’t follow through with the order. Try another bundle to compare postage costs, and then make your choice on the bundle you want. Or call us if you can’t work this out.
Please be aware of excessive postage as the program will charge you for every bundle you purchase if ordering two different bundles. This is easily resolved with a custom quote or by calling us. If you make a mistake with the postage we refund you the difference or you can top up your order with some garden supplements if it is a small amount.
If for any reason you feel the postage to your area is excessive (and sometimes it is too remote areas) please email us or go to this link at Australia post and check if the postage is better using the box dimensions and weight listed above, plus your area code and suburb, and our area code and suburb (4005 New Farm).

The Compot is a clever, easy to use direct compost solution designed to dispose of all your kitchen waste. It can be adapted to suit any size garden, either large or small. It is meant to make composting easy while nourishing your garden without the usual hard work that composting requires.
The design of the Compot allows you to fill it with all your kitchen waste including meat, citrus, onions, oil, dairy and basically anything biodegradable including animal waste without needing to chop it up into little pieces like you have to do with worm composting. And you don’t have to keep digging holes unless of course, you want to move them around your garden every 6 months or so. But that is more work.
And all you have to do is keep topping it up or refilling it whenever you have any waste. There is no need to wait for everything to decompose. Just toss more waste on top of the old waste, lock on the lid and cover with anything but dirt.
Simply…Fill… Forget… Refill.
Ideally, plant a few around your garden and rotate filling them. By the time you get back to the first one, it will be well and truly ready to take more of your waste.
Plus it is super easy to harvest soil if you want to use the soil for your potted plants.
Just let one sit for 4 to 6 weeks without topping it up and it will turn into beautiful rich composted soil that is easy to scoop out with your hand or a trowel.
If you don’t like filling them with everything from your kitchen you can choose to fill them with just worm friendly food only. The choice is yours. Work out what works best for you.
